"We were honoured to be nominated for an award, and thrilled to win our category. We had a wonderful evening, we just wish that all of our staff could have joined us, as they are the main cogs in the wheels of the success of the business. Also thank you to The Enterprise Agency for putting on such a great event."

Weldrack are a complete one stop shop for engineering companies. Set up by Graham Emerson and Jeff Metcalfe, who both have a history of working for engineering firms and knew the issues faced when sourcing supplies.

“Many companies, especially in this economic climate are looking to minimise material costs. They are doing this by utilising suppliers that can delivery a complete range of quality products at competitive prices. This reduces the administration costs normally associated with each purchase transaction, which in turn frees up staff to concentrate on other parts of the business, such as sales.” says Graham.

Graham could see that there was a real gap in the market for a company who could be a complete supplier for companies and who could if required, devote warehouse space to clients and keep stock for them until they were ready to use it. This has enabled many of their customers to reduce their supplier base and increase cost savings.

Customers are able to order through the office in Hunwick, or via the e-commerce website, which has the facility for customers to manage their accounts online and download any material / product data sheets they require for full traceability. Deliveries are also strategically routed to reduce transport costs and to encourage a better carbon footprint. Some customers are automatically topped up each week, while others order as required.

The company was established in 2000 and has grown rapidly. Luckily the warehouse in Hunwick has been able to be extended to accommodate this expansion and fulfil the needs an evolving company. Weldrack not only supply engineering companies with capital plant and equipment, but they also install and maintain many of the items that are purchased, thus establishing a long term relationship with many of their clients.

They understand that machinery downtime can be extremely costly to business, but with many companies having to reduce the numbers of permanent maintenance staff they employ, Weldrack have set up and run many preventative maintenance programmes for their clients. This has enabled them to become not only a supplier, but an effective partner for engineering companies, increasing customer loyalty and helping to sustain regular and stable growth.
