Local Newsagent Gets to top 3 in National Award

Eric Jordan of Evenwood News has followed his success in being short listed in the Enterprise Agency's Entrepreneur Award in July, by being a finalist in the Newsagent of the Year .

Eric and Linda run Evenwood News which reached the last three in this prestigious award and Eric went down to the Plaza Hotel in London for the ceremony in mid October.

Although he didn't win, getting to the final three was a tremendous achievement which reflects Eric's hard work and the resulting success of his business. When it began five years ago, Eric employed 4 staff and some delivery boys and girls but now he has over 30 employees and he is gaining new customers all the time.

Eric says " Reputation was the main driver for new customers and "word and mouth" became our marketing tool rather than advertising. It was a geat honour to be nominated and we are unashamedly proud of being in the final three businesses out of 80,000. Recognition by the Enterprise Agency played a major role in this acheivement."
