Buy a Brick and Help Us Build a Future

Although TCR (Teesdale Community Resources) only registered as a Charity in 1996, is has since 1978 been providing opportunities for all sectors of the community in Teesdale. It is possible you may not have used the services from the organisation yourself, but if you live in Teesdale we would be very surprised if you didn’t know someone who has.

You may recall projects like the Community Bus? More affectionately named “The BiG Green Bus” used in villages to provide and or support youth and community facilities. You might have been on one of our Play schemes as a child. You may have an elderly relative who has used our Mini-Buses to attend social events that they would not normally be able to access. You may even know someone who used one of our Scooters to access training or employment. You might have come to TCR for music tuition, to access our rehearsal facilities or even record your debut CD or maybe had a lump in the throat moment watching your son or daughter perform in public for the first time. You could have trained as a youth worker or accessed training through our organisation. Or you might have a friend who had difficulties in furnishing their home after falling foul of fire or poverty and used our furniture recycling scheme. You, your son or daughter may have been on activity holidays here in the UK or across Europe or, represented us at sports events, been involved in education programmes or just “hung out at TCR” because you/they felt valued and safe.

Whatever the reason at some point charity begins at home, and Teesdale and its whole community is one big home for us all, and we can all help. This new venture, `The Hub` will be our biggest step ever and “we want you to be part of it” We aim to create this new world class facility to improve our current service and develop more opportunities and wider choice. We will provide catering, vehicle maintenance, dance, driver, music technology and health related opportunities, at a later stage “training for trades” building and construction training for the dales young people. That’s why we need raise the money and you can buy a brick or plant a tree to help us achieve it.

How Can You Help?

The 'Buy a Brick' scheme is an exciting way to help us raise money and allow YOU to be part of creating our new facilities. Each 'brick' bought will contribute funds towards the new multi purpose community facility. Each brick is £5 and you will have your name entered on our roll of honor after the completion of the project and it will remain there with your name on it for generations to come. Buy enough bricks and you could even have one of the rooms or `Zones` named after you! So even if you only buy one “Brick” you know you have helped and that help can be seen.. ARE YOU UP FOR IT?
