Born and bred in Teesdale, married to Terry with two grown up children and doing a job that I love, in fact a job that I would happily do for nothing but perhaps I shouldn't let my boss Shaun know that!

From school and college I worked at Glaxo Operations, as it was known then, until family came along. I joined the Agency in 1988 on a part-time basis, working in one room in King Street, very, very cosy.

A few years later we moved offices to one above a dental surgery in Galgate and from there to our state of the art facilities here in Enterprise House. We've definitely moved up in the world.

I feel extremely privileged to be able to work with so many entrepreneurial people, with a raft of interesting and exciting ideas and the drive and commitment to turn them into businesses in beautiful Teesdale.

I pay tribute to these people, young and not so young, for having the guts to 'go for it' and for the amazing amount of time and effort they put in to make their businesses succeed.
