Funding for Durham Businesses

Looking to relocate to County Durham or considering starting up an enterprise in the county? Or are you an existing business already based in the region? Then this may be of interest. The Durham Finance Fund was set up by Business Durham to boost economic development and it is managed by Maven Capital Partners. The fund includes:

  • £20 million of funding available to companies of all sizes across most sectors, which will contribute to economic
    development, job creation and innovation within the County.
  • The Fund can provide flexible equity, debt or mezzanine funding packages of between £200,000 and £700,000
    to established businesses.
  • 10% of the Fund is available for investments of up to £40,000 for start-ups or small businesses seeking finance
    for innovation. 


Investment can be used to fund a variety of projects including:

  • Start-up costs
  • Assett and stock Finance
  • Relocating Expenses
  • Working Capital
  • Expansion Costs
  • Recruitment or training of staff
  • New Products or Services
  • R&D and innovation
  • MBOs and replacement capital
